GIFFONI OPEN DAY
7 JUNE 2014 SKOPJE CITY PARK
The 2014 Giffoni Day took place on June 7, 2014 in Skopje City Park involving the active participation of hundreds of students from Macedonian primary and secondary schools. The five-hour program opened at noon, with a concert by Skopje City Orchestra. The day was filled with a rich program of activities including a competition of ten high school bands that held a concert with film soundtrack of choice and a notable performance of Flash mob – Eureka as well as screenings of one-minute films produced during 2013 “Giffoni Macedonia”, animation films supported by the Macedonian Film Agency and student films. The children were animated through series of mini-workshops on haiku poetry a photo exhibition and a contest for the ‘most creative selfie of the day’.
The day wrapped with the announcement of the winners who would attend the 2014 festival Giffoni Experience – Italy. The event closed with the Capoeira Club Skopje and their capoeira master Mestre Pulmao who managed to animate the audience through their interactive performance.
The event attended by a Giffoni Experience delegation, led by the director Claudio Gubitosi.
