The Italian comics in the focus on October 6th, 2022.
In its tenth edition, Giffoni Macedonia dedicates an entire day to Italian comics!
Italian Comics Day is taking place on October 6 at the MKC, Skopje, with a series of events organized in co-production with the Embassy of Italy in Skopje, as part of the 22nd week of the Italian language in the world.
Special guests Alessandro Bilotta and Sergio Gerasi, authors of numerous comic series. They work together on some of them: Valter Buio and Mercurio Loi, but also Dylan Dog and others.
An exhibition with comics designed by Gerasi on a subject by Bilotta will be set up for the entire duration of the Festival, starting from 6 October.
The poster of the event was chosen among the proposals submitted at the competition organized with the Institute Dante Alighieri.

The Italian Comics Day is organized by Giffoni Macedonia and the Embassy of Italy in Skopje, as part of the 22nd Week of the italian language in the world, with the cooperation of the Institute Dante Alighioeri from Skopje.
Alessandro Bilotta was born in Rome in 1977. Since the ‘90s, has given life to numerous comic series, in Italy and in France. The amazing stories of Giulio Maraviglia and Romano for Vents d’Ouest and La Doctrina, an ambitious futurist comic republished by Feltrinelli, were born from the long collaboration with Carmine Di Giandomenico. He is one of the authors of Dylan Dog: he is the creator and the writer of the saga The Planet of the Dead. Among his works: Valter Buio, the psychoanalyst of ghosts published by Star Comics; Mercurio Loi, the layabout genius of papal Rome, award-winning character by Sergio Bonelli Editore and The Men of the Week, the series of Italian superheroes developed for Panini Comics. For DC Comics he wrote a story of Batman published in the celebratory volume The World. He has won the Gran Guinigi, the Micheluzzi, the Repubblica XL Award and the Romics d ’Oro.
Sergio Gerasi was born in Milan in 1978. He debuts as a cartoonist on the pages of “Lazarus Ledd”. He draw for “Jonathan Steele”, “Nemrod”, “Cornelio”, “John Doe”, “Valter Buio”, “Rourke” (cover artist) and many others. He currently works for Sergio Bonelli Editore on “Dylan Dog” and “Mercurio Loi”. For the SBE he also made one album of the series Le Storie (L’ultima Trincea, n ° 21). For ReNoir Comics, in 2008, together with Davide Barzi he publish ”G & G” (later republished by BeccoGiallo), graphic novel tribute to Giorgio Gaber and – as a single author – “Le Tragifavole”. His latest books are “In Inverno le mie mani sapevano di mandarino” and “Un romantico a Milano”, both published by Bao Publishing. For this last graphic novel he received the Andrea Pazienza Award as best complete author (Le strade del paesaggio 2018). He collaborates with the TV journalist shows of Michele Santoro (from “Public Service” to “M” – La7 and Rai3). He has drawn for important national magazines and newspapers including Gazzetta dello Sport, La Lettura and 7 del Corriere della Sera. He is a drummer and founder of the punk rock band 200Bullets. He performs in live painting with the theatrical duo Formazione Minima.
